Action Packed Month of May at Hagerstown Speedway
May has already arrived, and if it is anything like the way April was, race fans are in for a treat.
So far, Gary Stuhler has established himself as the driver to beat in Super Late Model competition. He has three wins in out of four races, and has started no better than fifth.
Kyle Lear is off to a great start in the Late Model Sportsman division with two wins, and consistent finishes near the front of the pack.
Jamie Zentmyer is the only repeat winner in Pure Stock, but he was in a different car than what he started the season with. Time will tell if he can return to his early season form.
Hobby Stock racing has featured different winners each week with battles for the win coming down to the checkered flag. It’s hard to pick a favorite or dominant car in this class for 2017.
The month of May brings us another appearance of the Crate Late Models in addition to our regular show divisions on May 6.
We take a week off of racing for the annual Bonanza Extravaganza over Mother’s Day weekend on May 12-14.
On May 20, we have Student Night/ Armed Forces Appreciation Night and 4 Cylinder Demolition Derby in addition to our regular show.
Over Memorial Day weekend on May 27, we will feature the first scheduled Mason Dixon Shootout Series for the Late Model Sportsman/ 358 Late Model race teams, along with Super Late Models, Pure Stocks, and Hobby Stocks.
And mark your calendars now for May 31. This special Wednesday night show is the opener for Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek. Expect many of the best Super Late Model drivers in the region to be on hand for this show. This is a special SLM-only event.
So, if you plan on coming this month, we hope you enjoy your visit. To those fans who have supported us this year, we at Hagerstown Speedway thank you for your support.
And to those who haven’t been here yet – what are you waiting for? You’ve missed some of the best shows already in 2017. Don’t miss any more! Come out and join us at The Capitol of Dirt Track Racing.
