“Hardy Wraps Up Two Win Weekend With Saturday Hagerstown Triumph”

By Doug Watson

Hagerstown MD, (6/25/22)- Virginia ace Kyle Hardy is as hot as the summertime weather as he backed up his Friday Late Model Score at Potomac (MD) Speedway with a convincing win in last Saturday nights 25-lap Late Model main at Hagerstown Speedway. The win for Hardy, worth $3000, came steering his Sommey Lacey owned Rocket no.45 and would be the 8th of Hardy’s career at the venerable Maryland oval.

Hardy earned The pole for the start of the event and would make the most of his good fortune as he would eventually pace all 25-circuits. Eventual runner-up Jamie Lathroum came from his 8th starting spot to challenge Hardy midway through the event but could not get close enough to make a challenge and would settle for his second podium finish of the weekend. “This car can be a handful sometimes but when it’s right it’s pretty hard to beat.” Hardy reflected in victory lane. “The track started to change towards the end so I had to adjust my line but we had a great car tonight and it’s an awesome feeling to get this team another win.” Kyle Lee took third with Tyler Hershey and Tyler Emory completing the top five. Timed hot laps would set the starting field for the 26 cars on hand with Hardy setting fast time overall with a one lap time of 18.164.

In support class action, Greg Diehl would come out on top for his first career Hagerstown feature win in the 15-lap Pure Stock main. Steve Kent, Jason Stoner, Jimmy Combs and current points leader Mike Grady Jr. would complete the top five. Keith Reed drove to his second win of the season in the nightcap 15-lap Hobby Stock contest that saw James Speelman, current point leader Dylan Beavers, Mike Fuller and Devin Thomas rounding out the top-five.
